Our text declares that we are all at the valley of decision. We are at the
place where our fate or destination is decided. The question is: who
decides where you will end up this year? I see that no one but you. You
decide what will become of you in 2010 and the years ahead. I discovered
the Bible to be a book of decisions. It contains the Two Decisions. One is
Old while the other is the New Decision. Man is always at the center of
all the decisions. After God made man, He placed man in the Garden of Eden
– the place of voluptuous beauty and goodness. Then God declared to man
that he could eat of every tree except one. The declaration was clear: the
day you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall
surely die. Gen. 2:17.

God did not say, the day you eat of it, I God will kill you. God said to
man, the day you eat of it, you kill yourself. Man has had this awesome
power and privilege from time to decide his fate. God has coded this power
of decision with the things that the blessing and curses generate. Deut.
30:1, God declares expressly that He has set this power in man to function
in either the blessing or the curse. These forces produce the quality of
life you will ever live here on earth. In Deut. 30:15-19, God even went to
the extent of invoking the heavens and the earth to bear witness of the
fact that it is not His responsibility if you are blessed or cursed. It is
your responsibility. You must choose your pick. You must make your choice.

This year is still very pregnant and young. You can decide what will
befall you this year. Yes, you can choose what will happen to you, your
marriage, ministry, business, career, etc. Job 36:11,12 tells us the key
to enjoying the blessing and life on one hand and then the curses and
death on the other hand. It says that if you obey and serve God. It is
conditional. This condition is your decision. In Isaiah 1:18-20, God tells
us to come along with Him to reason. Then He said, if you are willing and
obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. If you refuse and rebel, you
shall be destroyed. In the land where you dwell, there is good. You can
access the good if you choose to. In every poor country, there are always
a near six percent that are rich. If you will, you will be in that class.
It is your decision.

From today, I want you to take full responsibility for your life. No
longer should you blame the government or your relations who refused to
help you or your best friend who betrayed you. Take your life in your
hands and become all that God planned for you in Jesus. It is too much
power to give to any human the responsibility of your present condition.
They don’t deserve that. Take it from them. Rule your world because God
designed you so.

In this message, I want to show you fine decisions you must make this
year. These five decisions will take care of practically every other area
of your life. One, decide to have fun. Psa. 118:24, the Psalmist said,
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in
it.” Every day is the Lord’s Day. Decide to rejoice and be glad. It is
your choice to rejoice and be glad. It is not dependent on your
circumstance or country. It is not dependent of your status or salary.

Decide to have fun with your life. Life is short even if you live to be
over a hundred. Make every day for the rest of your life fun-filled. When
your life is fun-filled, you will be fulfilled. If you take fun out of
your life, you will have a funeral. I choose to have fun. Decide to have
fun with your spouse. Make every moment with your children fun-filled.
They will be with you for a short while. Make those moments fun-filled.
They will always come back to you when they live on their own because you
are a happy person. Think of it, you look older when you are frowning and
miserable. Reduce your years with joy and laughter. Laugh when necessary.
Laugh when not necessary. Do not let people control your joy level. Your
joy is your strength. That is why the joy of the Lord becomes your
strength. Neh. 8:10 tells us to eat the best, enjoy our lives; stop being
sorrowful for the joy of the Lord is our strength.

Reject any reason for which people will tell you sorry this year. When
people tell you sorry, poor you, etc, tell them that you reject it. I
refuse to be miserable. I refuse to be poor. I refuse to be at the mercy
of any human being. I refused to be at the mercy of the government. In
Jesus name, I choose to be glad. I choose to rejoice. Treat yourself and
your spouse to the best bottle of wine tonight. Just have fun with your
lives. Shut yourselves in. Turn of your mobile phones. Put a ‘don’t
disturb’ sign at your door because you must have fun for the rest of your
life beginning from today. It is still your decision to make.

MINISTRY UPDATE

One, just to let you know that I was on my way to Niger Republic and Mali
when I received several calls from dear friends of mine to move this
mission trip to some other time. This became necessary because of the
crisis in the north particularly in Sokoto where fresh religious crisis
broke out last night. That was to be my route to Niamey. Although, the
people are expecting me in both Niamey, Niger Republic and Gao, Mali. I
spoke with our missionaries in both countries. In Niamey, Pastor Hilary
told me of the persecutions they are going through. In fact, the Muslims
had a list of pastors to be killed. His name is included. Please, let us
mobilize intensive prayers for our country Nigeria that this religious war
does not spread. This war will only set us back and slow down the spread
of the gospel.

Two, pray about partnering with us this year as we press on to reach the
nations with the gospel and miracle power of the risen Christ.

Three, plan to join us for our Business Breakthrough Partners Weekend
March 6 and 7, 2010. We will skip that of February.
