The Power of The Cross

“Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the
physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner
partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might
bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death —
that is, the devil —
And also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who
through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout the
whole course of their lives.” Hebrews 2:14 & 15.

From the fall of man, the most dreadful weapon the enemy had on man has
been death. Man was created to live like God who never dies or ceases to
exist. Sin brought about the fall of man from that high estate of being.
Rom. 3:23. Death became the downfall and final end of mankind. It became
an appointment for man to live and die. Heb. 9:27. Every human being born
into this world looked forward to this appointment. In fact, in Genesis
five, you will read the cycle of man thus, a man is born, he lives for a
period of time, gives birth to children, then lives for some more time and
then he dies.

As man lived like this, the fear of death became a controlling force in
his daily existence. The worse part of this experience is the fact that
man was not in control of his time here on earth to decide how long he
lives and when he dies. God in His master plan, set in motion the
redemption of man back to his never dying state. The only way to conquer
death was for God, who never dies, to die Himself. He came in the Person
of Jesus Christ, the God man. Jesus went the way of the cross. The cross
became the bridge back to the never ending life of God that man lost in
the Garden of Eden. Jesus died having paid all that was required for the
total redemption of man. He was buried and after three days, He rose from
the dead.

The victory of Christ on the cross was to settle the payment of death for
all mankind through out eternity. For all eternity, Jesus destroyed the
power and controlling influence of death over man. The cross of Jesus, His
death, burial and resurrection put paid to the dreadful impact of death on
man. What that means is that you cannot be destroyed by death. You don’t
have to be controlled by death any more. You can live and not die. You can
live without the fear of death. You can live for as long as you want to
live here on earth. When you are tired here or satisfied, you can put off
this old man and put on a new man that lives for ever.

What Jesus accomplished on the cross for you is more than enough to keep
you free for all eternity from death. You were delivered more than two
thousand years ago at the cross when Jesus Christ hung and died. From this
day, as we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus
Christ, enter into your total freedom from every form of bondage again to
the Devil and death. Those nagging thoughts of death you have been
battling with, you can super impose the cross of Jesus Christ on them.
Those images of death that have been terrorizing you, take them to the
cross. The debt to death was paid in full at the cross. The demands of
death have been settled at the cross. The cross is your power over Satan,
his demon cohorts and death. Tell the Devil to write whatever death
sentence he has against you at the foot of the cross. Paste the cross
across your mind and life. Jesus died so that you will live. The two of
you cannot pay the same price for one product. No debt is paid twice. He
paid it in full so that you can enjoy life here and after now. Because He
lives, He said that you shall live also. “…because I live, you will live
also.” John 14:19.

If you have not accepted Jesus into your heart, say this simple prayer out
loud: Jesus, I believe in my heart that You died for me. Come into my
heart and be my Lord and Master from this day forward. I believe that I am
saved in Jesus name. Amen.

I speak life into your being today. You shall live and not die. You shall
live a full life, a satisfied life and a good life in Jesus name. Amen.

From this day, speak your redemption realities based on what Jesus did on
the cross. Don’t allow the Devil to intimidate you anymore. You are more
than a conqueror! Enjoy your redemption in Jesus Christ! Happy
Resurrection!
